Last spring Dollar Shave Club began selling their own shave gel. I haven't done any research on the name, but I'm sure there is some humor to be found if you try. It's called Dr. Carver's Easy Shave Butter. It is $8 a tube, which is a little higher than the Nutrogena shave gel that I had previously been using. But, I was willing to give it a try. So in June, I added it to my next shipment along with an additional blade for my wife to have.

After using the Shave Butter for a few weeks now, I can tell you that it is good. It appears to contain more "natural" ingredients compared to the gel I was using, and doesn't have any petroleum based additives. There is a slight tingling on my lips when I'm shaving, and no amount of wiping with the back of my hand will eliminate it. Only when I'm done shaving and get a full rinse does it stop. This stuff goes on clear, and some times I feel like I don't put enough on, but usually it doesn't matter, the shave feels good, and my skin feels incredibly smooth and soft after I'm done. I also feel like I need less moisturizer with this product. Though I still use my Nutrogena after shave lotion with SPF anyways. In fact, I would say that last Saturday evening, I had the best shave of my life with my Easy Shave Butter and my Dollar Shave Club razors. Please feel free to comment on any of my posts to ask questions or ask for my input. I'll try out the wipes next!
